News are more profitable than the so called articles because there is a lot less competition for news than for articles. Starting a blog about news is easy, all you need is a good template, a domain and you are ready to talk news.
The hardest part is finding news that no one else has. That can be done by building an audience and from there people will email you with news that no one else has and that is the most important ingredient for your news blog success.

Google Alerts is the best tool to get fresh news coming to you. Instead of having to search for news, Google Alerts make the news come to you as soon as they are indexed by Google.
News have more power than articles because they are fresh. If you take a look at top newspapers you see they have much better reputation than an article website. Which site do you trust more, NY Times or Ezine Articles? I thought so.
